We believe in holistic healing that takes into consideration the entire person - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
We believe that counseling is a pathway of essential possibilities. We believe everyone needs unconditional acceptance, respect, and empathy to grow and heal.
Island of Hope Counselling Services provides professional therapy for a wide range of mental health and wellness concerns. Island of Hope Counselling Services was founded in 2011 after, owner Danielle Lambrecht left a long career in Mental Health and Addictions Services.
Danielle is also an intuitive Empath. Through her clinical practice and over 25 years of working with clients, unbeknownst to Danielle she was refining her natural intuition (claircognizant, clairaudient, clairvoyant, and clairsentient).
Danielle combines her post-secondary education in conventional counselling therapies (EMDR, Somatic, DBT, CBT, and EFT) with the 4 "claire's", to assist clients to resolve symptoms of complex/developmental post-traumatic stress disorder associated with childhood trauma.
She also works to find resolutions with accompanied secondary issues often showing up with PTSD such as depression, anxiety, addictions and relational difficulties. Danielle understands that clients with extensive trauma can struggle with attachment disturbances, maladaptive defensive strategies, and personality ruptures and relationships issues across the lifespan.
If asked, Danielle would be honoured to utilize her intuitive abilities to address the issues that bring you to see her. Danielle combines conventional counselling therapies with her intuitive abilities to pinpoint stubborn, destructive patterns such as saboteur behaviours, negative core beliefs, low self-esteem, and self-injury.
Danielle was born in Hawaii and many of her ancestors were from Molokai, the Big Island and Kauai. Danielle believes she received her intuitive abilities from her Hawaiian lineage. Historically, Danielle's ancestors were struck with leprosy and exiled to Molokai because there was no cure. The results were her Ohana were split up, siblings were removed from their parents, some went to orphanages and some died on Molokai. Danielle believes her DNA carries this intergenerational trauma.
Danielle is a survivor of childhood abuse, abandonment and neglect from parental alcoholism. Danielle also lost her youngest daughter on April 18, 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. Danielle has spent years overcoming trauma, depression, and anxiety. Losing her daughter, is not something you overcome, but something you try to live with and sit with, in self-compassion and in honour of her life.
Recently, Danielle was a participant in a Ketamine assisted therapy to face her darkest human struggle, and that was losing her dearly loved child. She learned that integrating spiritual experiences after Ketamine sits, combined with support of a profession community of practice, taught Danielle she is connected to all living things, those on the other side of the veil, to Mother Earth, the Universe, and to Source.
Danielle recognizes all humans suffer, however, some in this lifetime may have more. It is in her personal suffering along with nā'-ă'u she learned some valuable spiritual lessons, she would like to share:
